Meeting of the rectors of the ENHANCE Alliance
The Rector of Warsaw University of Technology Professor Krzysztof Zaremba took part in the first meeting of the Board of Directors of the ENHANCE Alliance being part of the “European universities” project. The meeting took place on the 11th of January 2021.
It was attended by the rectors of all universities of the ENHANCE Alliance: Stefan Bengtsson (Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg), Anne Borg (Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim), Ute Habel (RTWH Aachen University), Francisco Mora Más (Universitat Politècnica de València), Ferruccio Resta (Politecnico di Milano), Christian Thomsen and Angela Ittel (Technische Universität Berlin) as well as by the Chairmen of the Student Forum: Marco Guerini (Politecnico di Milano) and Gabriela Maciejewska (Warsaw University of Technology).
The rectors elected Anne Borg, the Rector of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, and Christian Thomsen, the Rector of the Technische Universität Berlin, the Chair and Vice-Chair of the ENHANCE’s Board of Directors. The Board of Directors consists of the rectors or representing them vice-rectors of 7 partner universities of the Alliance as well as of 2 student representatives. The Charter of Rules and Governance Structure of the ENHANCE Alliance was adopted and the current state of work in 7 work packages, as well as the first results of this work, were presented.
The theme of the conference, which will officially launch the activities of the ENHANCE Alliance, was discussed. The conference will focus on challenges the universities will face after the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be organized in March 2021.
The planned activities of the consortium are closely linked to the plan for the implementation of the “Excellence Initiative – Research University” project at the Warsaw University of Technology.
